The Paint Rock River offers a peaceful and scenic kayaking experience. With approximately 59 miles of flat water and unobstructed flow, it’s an ideal spot for a quiet day on the water. River conditions vary naturally, so the distance you paddle may depend on the day’s flow. Paddlers travel upriver as far as time allows, then float back to the launch site.

Educational Programs

Educational programs are offered throughout the year. These programs include a safety overview and basic paddling instruction before participants head out on the water with a guide.

Kayak Rentals

Individual kayak rentals are available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. but are subject to river conditions. All kayaks must be returned by 3:00 p.m. Rentals include a single kayak, paddle, and personal flotation device, which must be worn at all times. Staff will help with launching your kayak, but guided support is not available for individual rentals. Advanced reservations are required.
