Primitive Camping

For those who truly love the great outdoors, we offer three unique and scenic camping areas that highlight the natural beauty of our landscape. Whether you are seeking riverside relaxation, a peaceful creekside escape, or convenient access with stunning views, there’s a perfect spot waiting for you.

Mountain View Campsite

Nestled at the foothills of the Cumberland Mountain, this prime camping location offers breathtaking views and a vibrant ecosystem. Known for its rich biodiversity and striking blue-green waters—colored by the natural minerals of the riverbed—this 58.7-mile tributary of the Tennessee River is one of the last free-flowing rivers in the United States. This campsite is drive-up accessible, making it both beautiful and convenient for campers.

Larkin Fork Creek Campsite

For a more secluded and serene experience, pitch your tent alongside the gently flowing Larkin Fork Creek. Located near the confluence of the creek and the Paint Rock River, this peaceful retreat is surrounded by a charming walnut grove and is only accessible on foot. A bit of a hike, but well worth the journey. Campers will enjoy access to modern restrooms and showers nearby.

Pavilion Campsite

Ideal for those looking for convenience without sacrificing scenery, the pavilion campsite offers open-field camping with stunning mountain views by day and star-filled skies by night. Located near restroom and shower facilities, this area allows for easy drive-up access and a comfortable, scenic camping experience.
